TEMPLE BY TRANSITION Part one

Transition is defined by Webster's Dictionary as "The period of passing from one condition, form, stage, activity, place, etc. to another condition, form, stage, activity, place, etc. Every person goes through transitions everyday. We transitionalize from the activity of being awake to the activity of sleep. We experience a constant state of transition throughout our childhood as we yearly move up a grade level in our education to experience more maturity and more responsibility. Girls go from playing with Barbie dolls to wanting to date boys as they transition into womanhood. Boys go from riding their bicycles to driving their hot-rods to wanting to date girls as they transition into manhood. Many of us have experienced the transition of the pediatriac stage to the adolescent stage of puberty to the adulthood stage and even some of you are transitioning from the adulthood stage into the geriatric stage of your life. Some of you are in the middle of transitioning from one career to another. I, in my life right now, am in the middle of transitioning from one church to a new church where I worship the Lord.
In fact, a perfect example of a transition that affected America is the process of going through a political transition from a Democrat president to a Republican president. Since late January, the tide of this nation is in the process of turning from a liberal and corrupt nation into a conservative and integrity focused nation. We saw what happened with this election and now where half a nation thinks this transition is positive and the other half of the nation thinks it is a negative change. As America progresses through this transitional period, the change in and of itself will not be the measuring device of the success of the change. The measuring device will be the end result of what we did during the change and our survival of the change that determines the character and integrity of the nation and the individual as a whole. In fact, I have discussed this key transition period of the American culture in my article Since "Christian" America Got What It Wanted, Will American Christians Give This Nation What It Needs" available by clicking on the link on the Table of Contents page.
Transition is like a two-edged sword that can be seen as either a positive transition or a negative transition. Some experience a positive transition in their life called marriage while some experience a negative transition through divorce or the death of a spouse. However, the point of experiencing the transitions is not to keep a running tab on how many good transitions versus the number of bad transitions you experience. The key to a successful transition lies in the fact of how well you deal and overcome the transition. It's easy to deal with a transition into a positive career advancement. However, it is hard to deal with a transition of losing your income due to a layoff, company closing, internal politics, or permament injury. The individual is not measured by the number of transitions, but measured by the end result of the transition.
Throughout the scriptures, God's people went through numerous transitions that at their respective times made his chosen people either a mighty nation of Godly impact or an nation of totems, taboos, transgressions, tattoos, and temptations. In fact, God's chosen people transitioned from a state of totem into a state of temple when a king who loved the Lord and did what was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord took control and ruled the land. The end result of that transition was that the Lord began to hear their cries again and rescued them from their enemies and blessed them with His presence. In many cases, God's chosen people transitioned from a state of temple into a state of totem when a king who despised the Lord did what was displeasing in the eyes of the Lord took control and ruled. The end result of that transition led to God removing his presence from his people and His chosen people were being held captive and oppressed into slavery by God's enemies. If we look at transitionary forms of governments and authority figures, God's chosen people went through a government where the leader went from a man called by God to the Lord raising up the Judges to the people of God crying out to be like the rest of the world by wanting a king. We even see Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary and his rising from the dead transition us from the Old Covenant into the New Covenant. In that transition, we transitionalized from being under the law into being under the state of grace. Therefore, transition is not a new thing under the sun. The Scriptures clearly show us both good and bad transitions of God's chosen ones and the end result of the transition.
