IMITATORS OR INTIMIDATED
Part four

I will now ask you a very controversial question. In fact, you can substitute any Biblical character that manifested poor choices and fleshly carnality in the first question and also substitute the fleshly carnality in the second question.

Question: Is there a real 'spirit of Jezebel'?

Answer: No, there is no such thing as a 'spirit of Jezebel'.

Question: Are there real spirits of control, manipulation, deceit, and usurping of male authority?

Answer: Yes, there are real spirits of control, manipulation, deceit, and usurping of male authority.

Wait a minute! What about Francis Frangipane's classic book "The Three Battlegrounds" where he exposes the 'spirit of Jezebel' from pages 97 through 120. You are blaspheming the anointed and popular man of God and touching the anointing. No, it is very simple, the spirit(s) in action in Jezebel's life and in the lives of people who act similar to Jezebel is not the collective property of Jezebel. Those evil spirits of control, manipulation, etc. are directly from the pit of hell themselves. These spirits did not originally manifest within Jezebel. Frangipane does mention that the spirits were in existence way before Jezebel walked earth. However, Frangipane has stated that now, all control, manipulation, and usurping is traced back to Jezebel and you have to deal with it as Jezebel to defeat control, manipulation, and usurping of male authority instead of dealing with the carnality of sinful nature rooted in original sin that I will show later on in Genesis 3. In fact, these spirits originally manifest first in the Bible in Genesis chapter three where it states:

1Now the serpent was the shrewdest of all the creatures the LORD God had made. "Really?" he asked the woman. "Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit in the garden?"2"Of course we may eat it," the woman told him.3 "It's only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God says we must not eat it or even touch it, or we will die."4"You won't die!" the serpent hissed.5"God knows that your eyes will be opened when you eat it. You will become just like God, knowing everything, both good and evil."6The woman was convinced. The fruit looked so fresh and delicious, and it would make her so wise! So she ate some of the fruit. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her. Then he ate it, too.7At that moment, their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they strung fig leaves together around their hips to cover themselves.8Toward evening they heard the LORD God walking about in the garden, so they hid themselves among the trees.9The LORD God called to Adam,* "Where are you?"10He replied, "I heard you, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked."11"Who told you that you were naked?" the LORD God asked. "Have you eaten the fruit I commanded you not to eat?"12"Yes," Adam admitted, "but it was the woman you gave me who brought me the fruit, and I ate it."13Then the LORD God asked the woman, "How could you do such a thing?""The serpent tricked me," she replied. "That's why I ate it."14So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, you will be punished. You are singled out from all the domestic and wild animals of the whole earth to be cursed. You will grovel in the dust as long as you live, crawling along on your belly.15From now on, you and the woman will be enemies, and your offspring and her offspring will be enemies. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."16Then he said to the woman, "You will bear children with intense pain and suffering. And though your desire will be for your husband, he will be your master."17 And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit I told you not to eat, I have placed a curse on the ground. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.18It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains.19 All your life you will sweat to produce food, until your dying day. Then you will return to the ground from which you came. For you were made from dust, and to the dust you will return."20Then Adam named his wife Eve,* because she would be the mother of all people everywhere.21And the LORD God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.22Then the LORD God said, "The people have become as we are, knowing everything, both good and evil. What if they eat the fruit of the tree of life? Then they will live forever!"23So the LORD God banished Adam and his wife from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.24After banishing them from the garden, the LORD God stationed mighty angelic beings* to the east of Eden. And a flaming sword flashed back and forth, guarding the way to the tree of life.

If you read this chapter, we see where Satan via the serpent deceived Eve into believing that her and Adam could eat of the forbidden fruit. It was after the deceit was spoken that the manipulation to believing that they could become like God by eating the fruit took place. It was after Eve believed the lie and ate of the fruit that she (and Adam later on) gave up control of the dominion of Eden. It was then that she usurped Adam's authority and Adam is at fault also by allowing Even to usurp his authority that he too became deceived and manipulated and ended up eating the forbidden fruit and losing control of Eden. And then God had to kick both Adam and Eve out of the garden. We can see that the control, manipulation, etc manifested itself in the Garden of Eden in the form of original sin. Also, we can trace back pride, and other characters of sinful nature such as sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin to Isaiah 14:12-15 where Satan decided to take control of heaven and failed to do so casting himself and the fallen angels into hell.

Therefore, the sinful natures can be traced back to the root cause of original sin and not to an Old Testament Biblical character. Therefore, there is no such thing as a "spirit of Jezebel." It isn't anywhere to be found in the Bible. However, there are spirits of control, manipulation, usurping authority, and occultism that manifest themselves throughout the earth. Warfare by casting out a "spirit of Jezebel" will accomplish nothing because you are addressing the wrong thing and not the root cause traceable back to original sin and the sin nature it created. Coming against, casting out, and rebuking demonic spirits of control, manipulation, etc and also realizing how these demonic spirits manifest in the physical realm will set the captives free. Frangipane's book "The Three Battlegrounds" does an excellent job of showing how the woman named Jezebel manifested physically the demonic spirits of control, manipulation, etc. This book also does a great job of showing physical characteristics that are influenced by demonic spirits of control manipulation, etc. Where this book has gone wrong is that they name the actual collective spirits of control, manipulation, usurping male authority, etc as the individual spirit of Jezebel. What this did was to alter the focus from the root of sin being from the devil and alter the focus into looking for a Jezebel manifestation. We teach people to cast out the improperly renamed 'spirit of Jezebel' and use tongues as necessary instead of casting out the properly named manifestations and spirits of control, manipulation, and usurping of male authority. We have conceptualized a serious matter and learned to deal with Jezebel in and of itself instead of the root cause called original sin.

Here, you can substitute any Biblical character that manifested Godliness in the first question and also substitute the gifts, callings, and anointings in the second question.

Question: Is there a real 'spirit of Elijah'?

Answer: No, there is no such thing as a 'spirit of Elijah'.

Question: Are there real prophetic annointings and spiritual gifts in existence today?

Answer: Yes, there are real real prophetic annointings and spiritual gifts in existence today.

What about 2 Kings 2:15 where it states that "the spirit of Elisha rests on Elisha"? If you do a literal translation of that verse, the translation reads "The living, breathing wind and Spirit of my God Jehovah settles down on Elisha". See, by calling out a 'spirit of Elijah', the focus once again becomes altered from the root giver of the prophetic gift to the gift itself. This type of thinking is focused on the prophetic gift instead of the spirit of the prophetic anointing of God. It is called the spirit of God with a prophetic emphasis. The company of prophets recognized this but manifested doubt at the same time when they wanted to send forth a search and rescue mission to find Elijah. They had respect for the prophet, but it appears that they had gotten to the point of almost worshipping Elijah and his spiritual gift instead of God, the giver of the prophetic gift to Elijah and the council of prophets. It was the actual Spirit of God that came down on Elisha, not the spiritual second coming of Elijah. Elisha did the work that Elisha was instructed by God to do. Elisha was not the 'next Elijah". Elisha was the continuation of the Spirit of God on earth. The "mantle" was a piece of clothing that had no power in and of itself. The power to fulfill the office of the prophet was from God Almighty manifesting out of the mantle. Why do we have services and in some cases 'prophetic conventions' teaching people how to receive Elisha's 'double portion' instead of imitating Christ and receiving the spiritual gift of the prophetic office if applicable and in God's inherent will on your life?

Question: Do I need deliverance from 'generational curses?

Answer: No, when you asked to be saved, you were automatically set free from 'generational curses'.

In many Pentecostal / Charismatic churches today, there is an extreme emphasis on 'generational curses'. One emphasis is that all negative actions in a person's life is due to 'sins of the forefathers'. Another emphasis is for pastors to pronounce 'generational curses' on those church members who disagree with him or expose his sins. The principle which God would reveal to us here is that either a Blessing or a Curse is bound by nature to follow a generational bloodline. Much of this teaching is based on one of the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20:5 which states in reference to graven images "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me"

These teachers emphasize the 'third and fourth genertion' part of the Scripture but they fail to read the rest of the verse where it is stated "..of them that hate me". Therefore, when one looks at this verse, the curse applies only to people that hate God. So, how does one break free from generational curses? Get saved and love God. It is that plain and simple. When you are saved, any "curse" that could have resulted from the actions, sins, and behaviors of your ancestors is broken, and all you need to do is believe that and walk in the light of it. You do NOT need any special kind of ministry, no 'inner child' counseling to discover these 'curses', etc. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Your parents' sins cannot "curse" you once you are born again. Galatians 3:13 explains this by stating "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of The law, being made a curse for us: for it is written Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree." The blood of Jesus has already broken from your life any curse that may be on your lineage. You are delivered from these curses because you are a Christian, Period. It does not matter what the 'curse' whether it is a sickness or something else. In fact, many things we attribute to "generational curses" such as divorce, adultery, alcoholism, anger, pornography, etc.) are actually handed down from one generation to another through enacting poor choices seen as bad examples and wrong training. These issues are not cured by 'special prayer', weekend healing sessions, 'deliverance', etc. but by renewing your mind with the Word of God.

These generational curses are for those who despise God and are broken off of those who become a Christian. No pastor has the right to claim a 'curse' on you and your future generations nor officially deem you as 'reprobate' (based on Romans 1:28) because you disagree with him, exposed his sins, or refuse to fall in line with his personal ideology made corporate theology. When a pastor threatens reprobation or generational curses to those who do not fall in line with his personal agendas called 'of God', that pastor has stepped into the role of God and became God and exalted himself to the same tier as God. Based on the verse in Romans 1:28, it was God who turned these people over to a reprobate mind, not a pastor. When you disagree with, expose sin within, or refuse to kiss up to the pastor as a dictator, you have not exposed a 'weakness in God' nor come against God, you have exposed a human weakness and imperfection and addressed the person's frail humanity and not God himself.

In summary, the stories of the Bible were used as examples of both the power of God and also to show us what sinful nature produces. We are Christians with our own respective callings, gifts, and anointings. When we try to call someone, the next "great famous televangelist", are we enacting a wishful thinking of both the nostalgia of days gone by and also a reincarnation mentality popular in Hinduism where we expect the spirit of a famous Christian to manifest once again instead of the Spirit of God manifesting a new thing? The examples shown in the Bible are there for our wisdom and for our learning of God's Holy Word, not to force-feed a person by calling him or her, the spiritual version of that Biblical Character to make it sound more holy, annointed, or revelatory. It is time to start using our Bibles to teach us to be imitators of God and not become God himself by using intimidation tactics to force people to see our personal agendas as corporate theology. When one decides to start imitating and 'miming' Christ, one begins to break the intimidation present that cause people to never fulfill their call. You as a child of God need to be the person Christ has called you to be. You may not be the next preacher so-and-so, but you may possess the same spiritual gift. You can not in any way be the next Judas, but you may have a character trait of betrayal that needs to be crucified with the flesh and in some cases, need a demonic stronghold cast off of you. When we perform Spiritual warfare, address the demonic spirits for what they are to the root cause traced back to original sin, not the "spirit of some evil Bible Character or King". Imitate Christ, don't intimidate others to your personal ideologies made corporate theology in the 'name of God' by calling everyone who disagrees a "Spiritual Miriam". Let us pray.

Lord, right now in the name of Jesus, I ask that you would teach us to obey your word by being just like you. Basketball players want to "be like mike" but I want to be like Jesus. As b-ball players imitate Michael Jordan's moves and work ethic to be the best b-ball player. I want to emulate you Lord to be the best Christian I can to fulfill my specific callings and gifts you have for me. If someone wants to say I have "the spirit of...", I want it to be known by having the fruit of the Spirit". Help us see these tactics that abusive people use to intimidate people and expose them for the sensationalistic hype it really is and deal with root causes to people's root sins. All these things I ask in Jesus name I pray, AMEN!!
